Mizzou Trip – March

  

 Mission To Honduras: March 2010
Friday March 26 – Sunday April 4

Trip Goals:
1. To go and make disciples in Honduras
2. To use our unique gifts & abilities to meet a need
3. To put ourselves in a position for God to teach us, change us, and grow us a little more like Christ.

Trip Requirements…. You must be willing to:
1. Trust God and take risks
2. Love people
3. Work hard
4. Be flexible

Steps to Take:
1. Apply Online (directions below)
2. Recruit a friend to come
3. Talk to your professors / employer. I recommend taking the day before and the day after off from school and work. Be sure to make arrangements ASAP for any tests/assignments you may miss.
4. Begin the process of getting/renewing your passport if needed. The U.S. State Department warns that processing for passports may take as long as two-and-a-half months due to new passport requirements. Passport Information.
5. Start brainstorming possible supporters and collecting addresses. The approximate cost of the trips is $1600. Could be a little more, could be a little less.
6. Download (and print) the Training Manual (PDF file).
7. Visit the Resources page for handy links and documents.
8. Write support letters (Sample), include a response card (Sample) and a stamped envelope with your address.
9. Call sponsors to follow-up your support letter
10. Send support to GCLA using the Support Form.
11. Send thank you letters to your sponsors, inviting them to join you in prayer about specific needs and challenges of the trip.

2. 12/06 – Shoe Sortjng, Time & Place TBA

4. 12/13- Support Raising Training Meeting – $100 deposit due
5. 12/31 – Send support letters
6. 01/27 – Team Meeting, $700 due to GCLA for plane tickets
7. TBATeam Meeting
8. TBA – Team Dinner at John’s house, 6pm
9. TBA – Puppet Training Workshop – 1pm-4pm, Memorial Union
10.
02/27 – Remaining funds due to GCLA: $800
11. TBA – Team Dinner at John’s house, 6pm
12. TBA – Packing Party, John’s house
13. 03/25 – Drive to KC, Meet at John’s house, 7pm SHARP!!!
