Mission To Honduras: March 2011
Friday March 23 – Sunday April 1
Trip Goals:
1. To go and make disciples in Honduras
2. To use our unique gifts & abilities to meet a need
3. To put ourselves in a position for God to teach us, change us, and grow us a little more like Christ.
Trip Requirements…. You must be willing to:
1. Trust God and take risks
2. Love people
3. Work hard
4. Be flexible
Steps to Take:
1. Apply Online (directions below)
2. Recruit a friend to come
3. Talk to your professors / employer. I recommend taking the day before and the day after off from school and work. Be sure to make arrangements ASAP for any tests/assignments you may miss.
4. Begin the process of getting/renewing your passport if needed. The U.S. State Department warns that processing for passports may take as long as two-and-a-half months due to new passport requirements. Passport Information.
5. Start brainstorming possible supporters and collecting addresses. The approximate cost of the trips is $1600. Could be a little more, could be a little less.
6. Download (and print) the Training Manual (PDF file).
7. Visit the Resources page for handy links and documents.
8. Write support letters (Sample), include a response card (Sample) and a stamped envelope with your address.
9. Call sponsors to follow-up your support letter
10. Send support to GCLA using the Support Form.
11. Send thank you letters to your sponsors, inviting them to join you in prayer about specific needs and challenges of the trip.

- 11/13 – Interest Meeting
- 12/12- Support Raising Training Meeting
- 12/17 – Deadline to Apply
- 12/31 – Send support letters
- 01/30 – Team Dinner, $800 due to GCLA for plane tickets, at John’s House, 6pm
- 02/20 – Remaining funds due to GCLA: $800
- 02/27 – Team Dinner at John’s house, 6pm
- 03/05 – Puppet Training Workshop – 1pm-4pm, Memorial Union North 206
- 03/13 – Team Dinner at John’s house, 6pm
- 03/20 – Packing Party, John’s house
- 03/24 – Drive to KC, Meet at John’s house, 7pm SHARP!!!

To Apply:

4. Fill in the fields (4 pages total)
5. Click Submit at the end.
